Robert has been the trumpet specialist teacher at the Music School of Douglas Academy since 2008.
Committed as he is to the advancement of youth music Robert has worked regularly for the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland on audition panels and as instructor. He has adjudicated numerous school music competitions and is invited frequently to adjudicate the Scottish Concert Band Festival finals. He taught brass for many years at Glenalmond College and at St Mary’s Music School.
He was also trumpet lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior department for many years where he also took performance classes.
He is proud to have had many students go on to study at leading conservatoires throughout the UK.
